Background

Grant Davis, known professionally as Louis Swagú, is a singer, songwriter, rapper, producer, and musical engineer that is showcasing his talent for song creation with the world. Louis was born Grant Davis on May 29, 2003 in Mobile, Alabama. Growing up in Satsuma, Alabama, he attended Satsuma High School, eventually graduating in May 2021. His stage name is a combination of the popular brand Louis Vuitton with a childhood nickname: Swagú. Louis currently attends the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Career

While Louis's music career is just entering full throttle, Louis Swagú emerged as a rapper in late 2018. He released his first tracks on the app Rapchat. Featuring a plethora of mid and under-produced releases, Louis took advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to hone his craft and learn music production and engineering. Since the start of his career, Louis has put out several mixtapes and unofficial releases, but at the time of its release, none compared to the enthralling listen that was the 2022 album, CLEAR SKIES, CALM WATERS. Featuring dreamy production over Lo-fi hip-hop instrumentals, this album marked a turning point for the modern era of Louis's music.

And the follow-up did not disappoint. August 2022, maarked Louis's grand return and his debut into a new genre: Pop. Bedroom and Indie pop meld together with contemporary R&B and hip-hop on his latest album, 'azure'. The album boasts twelve atmospheric tracks that will completely immerse the listener into the world of the album. The album is Louis's most streamed to date, garnering over 100,000 streams on spotify.

After a long drought for songwriting and a lengthy writer's block, Louis returned with his next album, "My Name is Nobody" in late April 2023. The album marked Louis's next big genre shift into the sphere of Indie Rock. The album pulls from numerous influences with twinges of folk and shades of shoegaze over generally emo rock instrumentals. The album was Louis's first narrative concept album, relaying the story of a shadow who loses his personality. The album was accompanied by a full length feature album movie available on YouTube.
